Where to Ride 12/27

Wow, Strawberry went from barely rideable to total coverage after the last series of storms. I was amazed at the coverage at Strawberry River. Strawberry is now on, even the hills are covered.

Okay, let's talk about wind for Saturday.
Best bets are going to be Evanston and PowMow. Evanston wind looks like mid to upper teens and PowMow midteens. Expect very deep snow at PowMow, so deep that it may be difficult to ride. Evanston should have plenty of riding locations with nice wind-drifted snow.
Skyline and Strawberry may also blow, but it may be too light considering the very deep snow at both locations. You may also have to hunt for wind at Strawberry, looks like it will be stronger near the East end, so if you don't see wind at Strawberry River, be prepared to drive farther. You may want to throw in some snowshoes in case it doesn't blow strong enough to pull you through the deep powder. Skyline may give up some rides to big kite/big board combos.
Elsewhere does not look promising.

SW wind looks stronger at Evanston, PowMow, and Skyline on Sunday. May even get rides at Rush or PC. Keep an eye open for early south winds in the SLC valley as you may be able to ride in Herriman in the early morning hours.
