Where to Ride New Year's Day 2009 - updated

Looks like we will be able to ring in the New Year underneath a kite. That will help with my New Year's resolution to kite more.

The best news is that Strawberry looks rideable. Expect moderate wind in the mid teens. Strawberry River may not be windy enough to ride, you may need to go to Coop or Chicken Creek.
Surface should still be nice. Wind will be out of the west, we may have to go as far as the cabins to ride.

Skyline will have W winds in the mid teens and a chance of snow on packed snow surfaces.

PowMow will be strong winds out of the SW. Possible spoiler, there may be a couple inches of snow in the forecast.

Evanston will have good wind on sparse snow conditions

The south end of the SLC valley is windy right now if you can find snow coverage

Friday 1/2/2009 - wind looks like it will crank at Skyline, PowMow, and Evanston. Rideable at PC and valley areas that still have snow. Saturday is looking like a classic Strawberry Day
