2/15 Kenny's Where to Ride

A weak storm front is approaching the area. The NOAA point forecast and ikitesurf are both saying sub-rideable wind. However, I think there will be rides today. Your best bet is PowMow in the AM and Skyline in the early afternoon. Of course, don't just drive up there, check the station meter before you go.
Thursday and Friday are really up in the air. The forecast right now is for high pressure (no wind), but there could be some upper level northerly wind that keeps us riding at Skyline and/or Strawberry. So stay tuned...

Hi Kenny,
I'm on a road-trip with the family to CA, but on the return, thinking of stopping near Bryce. Are there any good areas to snowkite there that you know of, & what weather stations might you look at (like Cedar Breaks, etc).?

I am not familiar with snowkiting in Southern Utah. I recall seeing a couple postings a few years ago from a lone resident down there. His name is Dustin Judd and he was riding the Cedar Breaks area. Here is a phone number 435-313-1058. The number is from 2008, so if it doesn't work, try sending him a PM. There is a spot off of I-70 that a few locals have tried as well, you might contact Brian Schenck with Windzup. He had done a lot of scouting for snowkites spots, so he is a good resource. Or, you could head a little north and get some rides at Skyline. The conditions are finally excellent at Skyline.
