I-80 Acid Ponds Sunday afternoon? 3-21-2009

Hello all,

With a high-wind warning for the Tooele Valley I'm tempted to go try for a kite session at Rush Lake but the shallow conditions seem sort of hazardous. It might be better to get out the poleboarding gear and go ride the south winds on the I-80 Acid Ponds. Anyone care to join me this afternoon? The conditions should 75 degrees with 25 to 35 mph south winds. Those having medical conditions requiring a low-sodium diet might best stay home.

Come on folks. Let's go. Pack up your kit.

Immersion in the Acid Pond's so-called waters is known to have therapeutic benefits (though most windriders just get a mysterious rash with no known cure). It's good for the skin--exfoliating!

Step into the briny, azure goodness. We'll race semis and weekend Wendover warriors heading home to Zion after blowing their paychecks at the state line.

Bring your hazmat suits, your puncture-proof kevlar booties, your portable eye-wash stations, and make for the ponds.
