Awesome day for kiting. I arrived at around 2:30 to about 5 others who were ready to ride or riding already. I was out of there by 4:30. Tonight was my first time riding strapless. the board i got is technically a "wake-skim" board for behind the boat and measures 58" x 24". its uncomfortably wide and thus not quite as agile, but the float is awesome and although it didn't feel like it while i was riding, the upwind ability is incredible. its a really easy relaxed ride with long coasts which is different than i'm used to, but i like it. jibing sucks though, it looks so easy when i watch all you other guys do it.

I kited from 5-7:15ish 11m, surfboard. The first hour was up and down, and little more East than usual, not the smooth UL wind we are all accustomed to. A good day to be on a floaty board that coasts through lulls I ended up getting stuck down around the point for a bit, (South SSB). took advantage of the light wind and shallow water to practice tacks. From 6-7 wind filled in nicely, best wind of the session was at the very end. Too bad it's getting dark so early, I miss the days of kiting till 9:00. I think Billy was out till almost 8:00, I could barley see his kite when he came in.

Bordy,
have you tried these?
My wife and I have both lost a few eardrums in the surf, these seem to prevent future blowouts, you just have to buy a few sizes to get the right ones. Seems like once you've blown one, they are more vulnerable from then on
