4/30, UL Saratoga Springs Park, 6.5, 115Ltr RRD
Showed up at 1 to a light South wind, uh oh, this is not so good.
Went for a quick launch scout with Eric C. and Tom W.
By 4 PM and several beers later, the wind had shifted North, and
the Plane Queens (Sarah and Linda) were ripping it up on 9 M
stuff. Steve was out on big stuff also. When they all came in OPed
I knew it was my turn. Grabbed the 6.5 and the RRD and hit the
water about 6. Jim H. was already out on a 7.8. Had to milk it for
the planers for about 15 minutes, then the wind came up a notch,
and Jim and I had the lake to ourselves for another hour of clean
smooth wind, with a little carvable swell developing. Wind cut back
shortly before sundown, and we planed in to the beach just before
it stopped. Sweet, and better a late blow than a totally blown forecast,
(at least that's my perspective ;*) ).
