5/9 Salt Ponds 26M Flysurfer

I thought I would get an early morning session at Rush, but the wind was too light when I arrived. I noticed a strong east wind at Lakepoint, so I decided to head back through Grantsville. Sure enough, it was blowing 10-14 at the Salt Ponds out of the East. I launched on the East side and rode butter flat water for a couple hours fully lit. By the time I got off the water the wind had switched to the north. Took one shot to the face. It took 30 seconds before I could see out of my left eye. If you go, wear goggles and take a big kite.

YOU ARE CRAZY KENNY!!! I salute you for being the die hard kiter and having the gut to ride the saltiest pond, I have ever know to ride in.

Imagine Gary of Tooelle sails the Ponds in 30 knots, alone, white foam piled up on the shore, big South winds are great, a mile fetch sideways running with the freeway.
Don't take the salt content lightly, its a gagger and attacks every orifice you never knew you had. Bring a giant bucket of real water. Layne Peterson and I sailed it Feb 2, 60 degree air 3-4yrs ago. Warm water but you won't catch me going back.
