4pm to near dark, probably 13 knots fr the West, steady but never kicked in. The lake cam is totally distracting! Can't go buck naked with the whole world watching.

On the diplomatic front met Ranger Rick, same Ranger that worked Deer Creek two years ago. We know he likes chicken sandwichs, very friendly to windsurfers, never ticketed our cars at the endless sand beach at Island. There are talks to get a human friendly ramp, he said Ty Morgan is the guy to call to get it done.

Utah Lake is going to rise another foot soon, they can't just open the floodgates due to the June Suckers and Jordan River homesites. Access should still be possible for windsurfers at the Harbor.

Since this was Mothers Day a trivia note: Layne Peterson's mother has sailed! She revealed that Layne as a child was an uber athlete, so it isn't just good gear, he's The Natural.

I can't speak for the kiters but it seems like a good ramp location into the forebay would be along the northern edge of the east "beach", probably near the apparently defunct row boat launch docks. There is a whole unused section of parking there that could be utilized too. This might be good for kiters since they could use the sand beach but not have to contend with the south jetty on take off.

A deep water ramp is what a lot of the guys would probably like and that might be best off of the south jetty at its junction with its north/south arm.

A relatively narrow sand bag path is probably all that is needed at either. Where do sandbags get parked when flood waters have receded? Can we get some?

Here's to hopeful thinking.
