Stared at the 5:00 AM reading of gust to 31 and got all pumped, but it wasn't to be. After a night of ripping wind, it started dropping at 6:00 and by the time I got out there it was what Craig said, same as the day before. But it was a little more consistent. 7.5 was the call. A lot of planing rides from 8:30-10:00. Steve out his 5.7 getting some planers as well. No helicopters, the Terra fire seems about out, just a wee bit o'smoke this morning.

Unbelievable series for you Dimitri. Can you drive there in your sleep? What I noticed is that your sailing is quite polished these days. It's as if you and Grant have been sailing 6 out of every 7 days non stop. Oh, wait, you have!

I'm crossing my fingers that someday there will be wind at the same time that I'm not working/watching the twins/otherwise obligated, and maybe I'll be able to go too. Save me a spot and we can pachinko around a bit.

Geez, just read Craig's forecast and yes, G'ville is blowing again! Can't believe it. Checked it around 6:00 and it was 10, so I gave up. But since 8:15 I'd be planing happily on a 7.5. But Black Crook Peak has been below 5 mph for hours! 0 gusting to 3! And the upper air readings are 5 and below up to 11,000 feet! What is up with this place?

Ah well, I had this wacky theory that maybe it was related to the fire on the west side of the Stansburys, (hot air rising, displacing cool air that comes down on our side, blah, blah) but that's out and so is that theory. So it's just an August phenomenon? Flapping of a horned lark's wings?
