Little late on the start, on the water by 8:30, but it turned out to be my best day of the year out there. Sailed alone in nicely powered 5.7, then at 9:00 it went wall of wind to white-knuckled rides with planing jibe after planing jibe after planing jibe...

Gary and Mike arrived about 9:30 and joined in the fun. Mike rigged a 4.8 (the freestyle lads are ever the optimists!) and had to work a bit, but Gary, on his 6.3 Maui Sails TR7, proceeded to shred it up. Always fun to watch someone who knows how to fly upwind. (and downwind). Also funny how Gary said he hadn't sailed much at all, yet he never dropped a jibe in the 50 or 60 he musta done. He was richocheting so hard off the turns and sailing so fast that he finally ran me down and passed me on the downwind side. Wow, humbling, but great fun to race, like the old Rush days.

Eric showed up at 10:00 and he and Gary were tearing it up when I left at 11:00. Yahoo!
