Sand Hollow 2/16 7.2 / 135
What a treat this past weekend, to windsurf in Feburary, in Utah. It was a first for me and Linda. We were undecided about heading south until late Friday, and headed out early Sat morning. Fun mtn biking Sat, then the weather forcaste was right on for Sunday of winds around 17 in the early afternoon. It's been a few years since we've sailed at Sand Hollow. We were happy to find that we could still park right next to the waters edge, and rig and launch. We rigged big since it was light when we arrived, and then, the wind filled in nicely. We had a couple of hrs of solid to OP'd conditions, and had me thinking i could have been on a smaller sail. but as usual, we just kept sailing. Both Linda and I had huge smiles on our faces, and were the only one's using the water. Air temps were in the 70's, water was cold, but a 4/3 steamer was fine. Blue skies, and lot's of red sand, made for a really beautiful setting. We felt like it was out lucky day.
