Well, I got there around 6PM... Had some great rides in the straps for a half an hour and then it started to peter out!?!? I didn't have time to make it out to MM19 or I'd of joined you guys over there... At one point I had a vector straight at the "Knoll" but the wind was dying...

The rental hut at the Provo Boat Harbor is owned by a guy who just bought it. He would be happy to rent sailboards there. In fact, he is anxious to get some... So, if you see him, talk to him about it, or if you want to donate some old gear to his shop, go for it. I think he'll be getting the Grant McAllister special! ;) (if somebody doesn't take it first at the beginner day at Grantsville!)

Also, later 3 beginners showed up. Turns out this guy Keith Robertson bought out all the gear from that "Outdoor Sports Unlimited" last year. I guess we lost a great advocate for rentals in Provo. The guy who used to rent beginner boards out there died a couple years ago in a car wreck. The guy who took his business over didn't know the first thing about windsurfing, so, Keith bought 8 rigs, a trailer, a kayak, for $400! Before even trying to windsurf!!!

I gave him and his son, and his son's friend a quick lesson in "WATERSTARTING" on my board... They almost got up. Wind had died down a little too much. They thought waterstarting was 10 years out!!! NOPE!!! They are coming to the BEGINNER DAY ;) with many beginner rigs and kayaks...

It sounds like the gear went to the right guy rather than a dumpster. It's good to see others (especially kids) getting interested. Trying Waterstarts on their first out. That's pretty amazing. You're a good ambasador for the sport Rick.
