So Thursday the weathermen were predicting UL at 5.0 and this morning they were predicting 12.0 in Tooele valley. Yet both days ended up 7.0. I felt like I had just taken a break Thursday and went back out on the same 7.0 sail and 115L board (except the water had gone from chocolate milk to drinking water). What a gift from Grants. For 45 minutes it was full on 7.0 and trying to do turns in 6.0 winds in the corner. Then as it started to die back switched to the 135L board for 15 minutes and then to the 8.5 for some great rides the last 30 minutes. I finally quit at about 10:45 when a huge flock of seagulls showed up and I figured they road in on a north wind. Nice morning considering the no-wind predictions. The High must have moved just far enough to the SE to set up the pressure gradients. Just not cold enough to last as long as normal. I picked up a large bag of trash before I packed up including enough of those gray egg cartons for 180 eggs. I can’t picture the mentality that would allow someone to just throw that much trash on the ground.
