3 very windy days this week and my body is toast. My body and mind wanted a short trip to UL but my heart was set on a 5.0 sesh at Sulfur. My wind meter was reading 22g38 at the end of the Sulfur dock and I was kicking myself for leaving the 4.7 at home. But the 5.2 and 86L Gorge board came through for a sweet 1.5 hour sesh in some great wind. The high gusts were creating large, well-formed waves that you could bank and turn on. Then, after one very wild wind line at about 3:30, the wind flipped from SW to WNW, the waves turned to chop, the wind dropped a notch becoming very gusty-holey. Still, I was able to rig the 6.0 and just keep going, still getting blasted by really high gusts on the north side of the lake. Pete and his wife were already there when I got there and Dennis was rigging when I quit. I needed to get home by 6:00 and I made it. Another great day in what is usually a pretty dead month.
