John and I both needed to get it done and get back home so when we saw all the wind meters lit early we zoomed to Grants. But it was kind of dead at 1st, and when it did get going, it was too west. I went out on 7.0/135L and John on 7.5/145L. Going straight north/south so it was nice to have a little more reach. Pretty gusty holey but we have done this direction at Grants a lot. Not what we were looking for but still a pretty sweet sesh, especially considering how sore I am from yesterday. Sarah and Linda watched as it was kind of crazy wind and no assurance that you wouldn’t end up stuck on the north dike.

The wind started up at DC at about 9:30 and by a little after 10 was gusting into the mid 20s. Got some wild rides on my 5.0, but also spent a fair amount of time water starting after falling to windward in the lulls. Very, VERY gusty/holey, even worse than yesterday. My 138 L board was OK in the lulls, but a little big for the gusts, George was on his 100L board and 5.7M sail.

Well, not quite THAT windy (the wind was from the other direction).

DC was gnarly - The best way I can describe is that on one tack out - you were super stoked :))) The next tack you were questioning why you were even out there :oo
