4/14 Utah Lake 3.0 75ltr RRD wave cult
Arrived around 3:30 to 70° and light winds at Saratoga springs. Steve and Mike had their 3.6 and 3.7 rigged I check the wind readings in Salt Lake and Dugway and decided to rig my 3.0. I have Owned this sail for 10 years and only used it five times. I felt a little breeze from the north temperatures dropped 20° in a matter of minutes the whitecaps started to form and then it was complete spray. Then patches of spray came ripping through the lake. Too windy to sail. We watched for an hour then we decided to try it. I sailed for about 30 minutes out-of-control survival sailing and then it died The temperature continued to drop and it started to snow. It sure is fun to try windsurfing in extreme conditions. The lake level dropped 2 feet and 100 yards out you could stand up. Spring in Utah you got to love it. Mother nature at her best.
