May, 2015, North Padre, 5.0-6.5, 86 and 111L
Posted: Wed May 27, 2015 10:20 amNorth Padre Island (Bird Island), Corpus Christi, Texas. Kept track of the the gear and time on the water for a few days until the brain switched from anal to chill! Sailed most days on 5.0 to 6.5 sails (1 day on 4.6, 1 day on 7.0), mostly 111 L Futura and sometimes 86 L Kode. Board shorts for most of the time. One cooler north wind session. Camped in style at Maliquite on the Gulf ($4/night) or on the beaches (free). Usual mix of locals and visitors. Lots of beginner lessons going out from Worldwinds each day. Missing one friend who died soon after I got to Texas, but she had been sailing for 15 year with active lung cancer.
As a bonus, got to bond with the grand kids as they now live in Houston.
