Grants was 20 when I left the house and zero when I arrived at 7:30. The propeller on the wind meter wasn’t turning at all. Went for a hike on the dike and by the time Mike arrived at 8:00 it was finally starting up. Mike E, Mike A, Manny, and I got some good windy runs to end the wind drought. After rigging some bigger gear I ended up jumping on the 7.0 and 115L board and was definitely powered. At its peak the wind meter was reading 23g27 but, with the water so far down in the hole, I don’t think we were feeling anything that windy. When it started dropping off I switched to the 135L board and then to the 8.5 and just kept sailing until 11:30. Great morning.

Yes very fun day. It sure took a lot of faith in the forecast!
Arrived to zero wind as well. Nice sunrise though before a very pleasant session.

You have to "keep the faith". We saw the sailable readings at GV earlier but when it started dropping and then went to 0 we called it and instead went to DC. See Grant McAllister post for that bust. Sailing terrible, Ambiance at least an 8.
