John, Patrick, Josh and Mike E joined me for some wild wind. From the time I got up at 6:30 to the time we got there it had gone from 11 to 25 mph and by the time we quit it had increased to 36g41. Everyone rigged 4.5’s to 4.8’s to start. Finally the inevitable happened and a sailor lost hold of his rig. It took 1 sailor to swim out and make sure he got to shore, 2 sailors to go rescue the rig at the north dike, and me to stand on the rigs on shore to keep them from blowing away. I was the only one that had brought a 76L board so I made 4 sweet runs on the 4.2 after everyone else quit. The 4th trip back to shore was so wild that I decided to bag it rather than rig the 3.7. Grants actually had some good sized waves. There was tons of dust and the worst part of the day was getting sand blasted in the face. It is only 13 paces to the water.

WOW. Sounds like quite the day! Hopefully there will be more wind next wind. Milder would be preferred ;)
