Don't you just hate it when people use abbr. that only the "in crowd' knows what they stand for? I know I do.
That said, I had a great time at Skyline High School Parking Lot last Friday and Saturday evenings. Started about 8:30pm on a 4.4m sail and could have been on a 5.0m. Around 11:30pm the wind got to where I could have used something a little smaller, but better landsailors would have been fine. Had the place all to myself. A few cars on one side of the parking lot on Friday, but only two cars with kids parked and making out on the tennis court end on Saturday. Lots of room.
Friday, a car full of kids came buy and said, "That looks cool. Can we try it?" An impromptu lesson for high-schoolers with proper footwear (No Thong Sandals Allowed) followed.
I think we could easily get a few passers-by interested in this sport if we continue to sail in that lot in the evenings. Just enough traffic to supply a few wannabees and easily visible from I-215. The cop there says to watch out for drunk drivers, though, so pay attention.
