Big wind at G'ville. Carl on a 5.7, but of course that tells one nothing since Carl coulda held down a 7.0 or made a 5.2 work. But when Carl is on a 5.7 and 87 liter board, you can be sure it's honking, which it was. It was also long-lost sailing buddies day: Mike Montmorency (sp?) was out there with his son Sam, who's getting into the sport. Mike hadn't sailed, he said, for about 20+ years, but was getting back into it. Hadn't seen each other since Rush days probably.

Also, got to see long-lost Greg Glazier again after many years. Greg's been in the Gorge with Tony, drinking the foiling kool-aid and has now become the First Foiler at G'ville! Sailed till about 10:30-11:00 then got to try Greg's Slingshot. Actually got a 3 second (one second that felt like 3?) ride up on the foil! Wahoo! But, as I told everyone on my return, I'm not getting on one of those ever again. Too addictive!! Just say no!

(OK, OK, we'll see...)

Anyway, great day out there. We left at 1:00 to gusty north winds.

Good time and good to see you Dimitri. The foiling was awesome to watch and Sam loved watching Carl carve jibes with amazing speed.

Now I am really excited to hear about foiling. I certainly need more gear. A truck-full is not enough!
