Got there at 7:00 and still didn’t beat the fishermen to our spot. Already 6.0/112L for me. MikeM 6.5, Kenny 3.6(78L), Josh 5.6, DuaneK 5.5, and Patrick 6.2. Sweet sailing for the 1st couple of hours. By 9:30 there was a streak in the middle of the lake that was pounding us. Then by 10:00 it died so fast that Patrick was stuck in the middle for a while on his 84L sinker. 4 times this week it died at 10:00, seems to be a new weather pattern. Or maybe just the above average heat. Anyway, by 10:30 it swung to SSE which isn’t the best direction but we managed to milk out some good runs between the dust devils. Then another dropoff which caused most to start packing. Then it went SW for some nail biting runs towards the south dike. For the rest of the afternoon the wind direction kept swinging back and forth 30 degrees with the occasional huge tower of dust during the +30mph gusts. I put the 6.0 on the little 86L raceboard after lunch followed pretty closely by the 5.2. Tons of out of control screaming reaches with the occasional schlog. Finally quit exhausted about 4:00. The lake was still covered with whitecaps when I left. Had to work hard for it at times but a great day.
