ULSSB 16m, 150cm
Arpi and I headed down for a classic SSB session. Apri fully powered on the 18m and I the same on the 16m. The launch is big and open but still back behind where it was last year. The water is dropping inches a day though. If there are no cars (other than ours, which was fortunately and amazingly the case yesterday) the launch is fine (self launch included). If there are party cars then it could get more tricky. 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive can drive in and although I would guess that 2 wheel drive could make it, there is one sandy patch where I would be a little nervous. Clearance is not necessary proved by the fact that my Subaru makes it and I have no clearance (I hate that about that car).
I saw at least 5 kites at Lincoln. My theory is that there is maybe 10-20% (maybe a mph or two) less wind at Lincoln when compared with SSB but I don't have much in the way to prove it (it just seems lighter than it should be the times I have riden Lincoln and compared to PVU). My guess is that we had about 14-15mph yesterday maybe one of the Lincoln riders can post what he/she estimates they had at Lincoln for their session.
