Arrived to see many sailers sailing or rigging at 8:15am. Rigged 5.7 and hit the water asap. It sure was nice to sail after such a long dry spell. Wish it had lasted longer but I'm thankful for ever jibe I got and at Grantsville that is a lot since it's not that long of a reach. Thanks to the wind God for allowing me to trim the sailing horn cause it was getting mighty long. Pray for a repeat tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!

Geoge forgot to mention that there was one member from the dark side there as well. Rode a 16M Waroo through the gust and bust.

Grantsville has too short of a down wind reach for beginning kiters and the wind is very spiky, gusty. I found that a drift launch is the way to go for protecting your kite and launching safely.

Did not lure any poleboarder over, but I think they may have been tempted by the easy jibes on a kiteboard. Grants is a jibefest.

kenny is one fine kiter, and all us poleboarding nuts appreciate his sharing little Grantsville.

As far as luring young Josh Shirley to the Darkside, good luck. He's Ezzy mad, JP crazed. Plus we polesters have invested so much in the young man. Years of borrowed boards in his formative Wonderbread Rush years. He's on easy maintenance now, a big soda with ice and he's ready for a nap. Not exactly X treme. And you'd have to replace his hooting at 7am whilst overpowered on a 5.8, only guy out.

Plus we need him to hoover up road hazards, he's the Humvee of Utah, having taken more hits to the underside than any kiter. The guy hits random IED's on the road out of Cottonwood Cove, not exactly the worlds most dangerous road.

Josh had plenty of watchful mentors on Sat, Ken Onstott, Tom Smart, Geo Ward, and a Carl sighting before noon.

It was nice to be out there with you poleboarders today. It was also nice to enjoy some clean water and a little company. I have been doing too many solo rides at Rush and the Salt Ponds.

It was nice to have a day with more wind than the Gorge, and on a Sat. too. It was nice to be on the little 85L board and 6.0 on the 1st trip out after the Gorge, everything was dialed. Lots of great company and strong wind. I haven't even managed to get out of the wrist spoints from the Gorge trip and this will add another week. Thanks Josh and John for getting me there. I gave it about 10% chance but I didn't want to hear about it later so I went.
