5/24 UL Pelican Point (RIP?) 6.5m 112L

Pulled into Saratoga Springs/Pelican Point Marina to a discouraging sight. Apparently, the State is installing a 3rd jetty, north of the existing marina, to create a swimming and beach area. On site, is a gigantic pile of rocks to create the jetty, and the launch site is cordoned off with inflated orange bumpers, locating the perimeter of the jetty. The perimeter is quite large and it's sure to create a wind shadow, and not sure where/if there's an exit. Ugh... I rigged and walked north past the northern boundary of the site, to see how difficult it would be to launch further north... it's a ways, it's muddy, and there's a big snake.
Rigged a 6.5m, 112L, a very short session, as the wind backed off... should have rigged the 7.5. Water level low... could touch the bottom 300-400 yards out. 16 traffic lights from I-15 to Pelican Point, horrible traffic... I long for the days of a deserted west side of Utah Lake, and Rocky Point, our private little launch, "thanks Grant". We didn't know how good we had it. Dang...

That's disappointing! Maybe launch a little further south?

I looked at launching from the south. Pretty muddy and lots of reeds, and of course you have the wind shadow from the jetty. It also looks pretty shallow going south, with a "mud jetty" further down... BUT, it's worth a try.

I have walked into the shore south of the marina jetty. It was muddy but doable.
Also, I have launched from the dock and boat ramp on a number of occasions.
The marina is surprisingly shallow.
