Arrived at 1:30 to teaser winds of 4-8 mph. Road to pond looked like a 'get stuck' waiting to happen, packed up both kites and all the assorted gear and walked to edge of pond. Only about 4-5 " of snow on ground and about 2" of snow over 2" of ice on pond. Not deep at all, hope there is some run off to put water in it. Snow was nice 'corn type' snow. Wind picked up to 8-15 mph. As an owner, and purveyor of OZONE kites it's like a parent having to choose which child he likes better. Nothing beats the ease of a Frenzy in getting into the air. That said, the one pump on the Instinct Sport is a dream, better than the parent SS design. Once in the air, the INSTINCT SPORT wins hands down!! Faster turning, more pull, more depower, developes more apparent wind and LOTS of lift. The frenzy may glide better off Bosco, but someone else will have to tell you about that. I was getting lift in every gust. A bit scary for me as I like to stay on the ground on the snow. I'll stick with the Frenzy for snow due to ease of set up and it suits my cruzier style better but Can't wait for the water for the Sport. Lasted for about two hours. 07's are both better than 06's which were better than 05's. Ozone will soon own both the water and the snow. IMO :)

Jon-

i was contenplating going down there saturday, but was worried about the ice depth. i'm assuming it was just fine since you were riding there. does anybody know when we should start to get worried about the ice there? a week of high 40's temps and saturday at 51 really had me worried....

Mike,
I wouldn't worry about the ice depth as it's only about 2" total over the dirt. I'm worried about where will the water to fill it come from. I hope some seeps in. I think the ice will turn into slush over the dirt.

If anyone goes out to Rush please keep your eyes peeled for my set of keys. They have my door opener and a small flashlight with a red light in it. I think they droped out of my pocket between the main road and the edge of the pond. This is at the turn off just west of the house with the windmills. Thanks.

i'll keep my eyes peeled.

jon- you are so right. if we were mudd boarding last spring, i guess that wouldn't make much water left under the ice. duh.

hope to see you out there one day.
