6/25 Rush 6.5 RRD 115LTR

I was expecting 5.5 conditions which is about how it looked when I pulled
up at 1, but a rig war later, it was holey 6.5 which I rode for about 45
minutes through a heavily weeded lake. Then a thunderhead rolled in
and conditions went to 4.5 with lightening and hard rain, which naturally
cleared everybody off the lake. And that was the story from 3 PM on.
You could grab the pre-thunderstorm wind for some quick rides if you
dared the lightening. The turn out was large despite the conditions,
with many conversations about the big smiling, air boosting, Mitch Cummings
culminating in a group picture. I can imagine the Angels gasping
and cheering as he boosts up air, like no earth anchored creature has ever seen.

6/25 6.7M/115L Weeds

That was pretty cool to see so many people at Rush yesterday. The spirit there was definitely good.

The group photo was a mixed emotion of somber, sober people giving hoots and hollars for Mitch as the picture was being taken.

I got there pretty late (5:30PM), but I just thought it was so cool to see the support.

I finally got a few rides later. The weeds are definitely NOT THAT GOOD. On your fin that is... Who knows? They might be good in the eating sense, but not in the fin sense.

Somebody needs to invent a way to beat the weeds on a sailboard... I know the swept back weed fins work, but even they catch a little and compromise performance. Maybe this needs to be carried on in the message board.
