I got to the lake a little later than I wanted to because my car broke down on the way there. Got everything sorted out and arrived just before 7. Quickly rigged the 6.2 and hit the water. Great rides fully powered until I had to call it a night a 8:17. The wind died down as I was de-rigging. I love the steady wind we get on Utah Lake. It is great fun to just get everything set and take off on a nice long tack. The only thing that would have been better would have been more time on the water.

I got on the water at 6pm at Lindon and got a good ride out and then fought the holes for the next half hour - I was cursing the Lindon wind when it all of a sudden picked up and I was skipping along and hitting the ramps for the next hour or two. Brad tried his 15M kite and decided it was too much so we shared a few rides.

One of the jumps I probably landed hard connected in and smashed my mast track - anyone have a decent free ride board for sale?

Hey Rod, what did you rig? What board? We had a bit of a lull at Pelican about the same time. I'm wondering if the wind speeds are comparable overall. I could have been 5.5 at Pelican for a good while 4-5pm, (allowing Emmanuel to rig 4.7) but it lulled a tad, then returned though a bit lighter. Kinda sounds like about the time you were getting out.

I was on a 6.9 100L board starting between 6-6:30pm. I was getting some planing runs, but there were big holes and it seemed like it was backing off - more shloggin/less planing. Then sometime around 6:30-6:45 the wind picked up a lot. I made several runs toward Pelican-probably not even half way but it felt like a few miles and it did not back off. I could have been on a 6.0 as I was fully to over powered on several runs. Sometimes it appears Lindon has a wind shadow and you can look across the lake and it appears that there is a stronger windline quite a ways out - who knows though, it may not be real. The wind readings at Provo show 16-23, 13-18, 13-23 during that time (5:50-7:50) It felt like the better wind was 20+ most of the time.

yeah, there was a lull at pelican but i was never off plane, just had to work it a bit. (7.0, carve 94.) maybe there is a bit of a wind eddy coming around the point of the mountain. interestingly, Sarah sailed up to Rocky Point, where people have said it's usually windier, and found the opposite but chalked it up to the general slack we all felt.

Rod, I got a Vivace 107 liters if you're interested. I won't be back in Utah until August, however.
