I've been waiting a long time for this day. I've spent many days eyeballing different farms and fields near my house in Frederick Md. since I moved up here. But for 3 years the conditions just haven't panned out............ till Sunday! You'all out there Utah, are used to this, but we recieved 16-20" in 24 hours, at 300'elevation.
I've snowkited a small field at a school, 3 or 4 times , but this time Steves ( my bro ) and I went knocking on doors to ask permission to use the land and scored. The land owner was skeptical at first but eventually let us do it.
Conditions were almost perfect, a little light, and a little too deep/wet but way doable. I was able to power up the hills with a few loops no problem. Later, just as I was letting Steves fly the Manta for the first time, the wind kicked in big time and was very hurtful with the insane gusts and direction change. Steves said he witnessed a small snow cyclone near me, must have been what folded my kite in half and caused me to experience a serious ass kicking! Its not very flat so a clean wind fetch is impossible I guess.
Thanks to Steves and is woman for taking these great pics!
See you'all in Feb and March!
PS , clicking pics will take you to my video page, thanks for watching!

Dean,

Looks like some very nice conditions - especially for Maryland! See you out here in February.

Thanks Kenny!
I just noticed you'all have a "sessions" area for reports, maybe the administrator would like to move this thread over! My bad.
By the way, all 20" melted away :( , but there are a few more storms headed out way:)
