1pm the lake was cappin', Trevor and Troy, the latest addition to the Polar Bear North Wind Klub couldn't wait to hit the water on 4.6 and 5.3's. Raging teen metabolism allowed for "a 10.0 rating day" , 3hrs of intense turn' n burn, then the rain clouds forced a return to sanity as Carl C meandered into the parking lot. For once no one drowned but a couple was scanning the horizon for "our friends on a yacht, its their first time on the lake"...By the mesonet it looked like by 5pm the wind was slowing down fast.

yeah, a good day for windsurfers to be out, not a good day for row boats or canoes. before rigging i took my dad to the end of the jetty where you can look down the length of the swells to get an appreciation of their speed, spacing and hyperbolic contours. it gives you a bit of respect because it sits out there surrounded by a 270 degree panorama of waves and white caps. driving back across the jetty we paced the swells as they ran with us, also impressive.
