Walter Mitty solos Sulphur:

The forecast didn't look very promising, but Glenn Dubock wanted to have a look at SC and possibly take a few pictures, so I decided to tag along. When we arrived (at something like 11:30) occasional moderate gusts were starting to come across the south end of the dam. "Big" seemed to be the call, but I couldn't handle the idea of using an 8.5 at SC (and besides, my 8.5 is really UGLY!) Unfortunately, 7.5m^2 in combination with my HS96 produced mostly scholgging. Switching to a bigger board (F-155) improved the planing/schlogging ratio considerably. By about 2:30, the gusts were getting shorter, weaker and less frequent - and Glenn needed to get to the airport. As we were leaving at 3, we noticed that the wind had swung around to the northwest and seemed both stronger and more consistent.

So, not an epic day, but a pleasant one, with a bright blue sky and an air temp of 63.
And the water wasn't as cold as I had expected; my thermometer registered 53.
