Near dead calm punctuated by short, sharp gusts. Paul(7.6m^2) and Angie(6.5m^2) were the first to arrive. I spent about an hour being alternately WAY overpowered and WAY underpowered. Ken(6.9m^2) got on the water at about 1:30 and seemed to be doing a bit better than I had been. Ralph (that was your truck wasn't it?) had the good sense to go fishing. I should have followed my own advice to Team Dubock and checked out Jordanelle.

Yes, we had smooth wind, consistent and powered enough to convince me to sail my Carve 99 and it was not disappointing. The best winds seem to extend from the ramp east toward the main channels. Gusts frequently tuck in around the western shore on smooth water making that a good gamble once in a while if you see a good one coming.

BTW, what are the current water temps, any idea?

DC water temp was about 55F yesterday. Haven't checked Jordanelle lately; will do so next time I go up.

55? That's not bad. Still I want to find some booties if I'm going to stay comfy. Any leads on the best kind to get. It's been a long time since I've worn any. This weekend is looking kinda maybe for DC but the next time I go to J-Bay may be in 2006 so no rush on getting water temps up there.

Carl,
I'm partial to the Prolimit "Global" bootie. It's quite warm, is easy to get into the straps, and is fairly easy to get on and off. I just got a new pair from BigWinds ($49.95 + $8 shipping.)
