Rush, 4/23, 6.8, RRD8'6" TT, Mud skeg

Stuck my freestyle skeg in the RRD and went for copious rides and jibes.
With the 9" skeg, the rides were reasonable, and the jibes sweet.
Sailed with Sarah, Linda, Jamie, Cathy, and a skyfull of Kiters
(Mike, Mitch, Doug, Kenny, ................)

I think the lake has reached it's peak, if you're gonna windsurf it,
you'd better get it soon.

Hello Craig!

What type/model fin was that? Seems like a good tool to have!

Hey Mani,

It's a freestyle skeg. Really wide through the whole length and short with
some rake. It actually came with my TT, but I've never used it till now
(I typically use a 15" Sweep on my TT). It really worked well at Rush,
Sarah said she was dragging her skeg a bit, as long as I was planing
I was happy. It was a little "squishy" for riding a 6.8, but the short
skeg probably added 50 ft to my fetch, and kept me from face planting
durning the jibes where I went too close to shore.

You should have gotten a skeg like this with your TT. Have you still
got that board?

I still do but mine was the first gen and came with a 28cm (5.5 conditions) and a 32 cm (6.5) that are more freeride oriented..

Are you talking about one of these 2 fins?

the second one looks manageable. The first one is scary but ohh so short (8.5"!)
if I buy one it would be for my new 125l board (I currently have 34cm in 6.5 mode)

Mine looks like the Goyafree, but with a bit more rounded tip.
That first skeg does look scary, but if you wanna sail with the Kite Boarders
at Rush, that might be the skeg for you.
