Went up on Sunday to check conditions and was surprised to see kiters out n about. I though I was the only one silly enough to dare riding this early when its base-less. I was wrong, apparently my standards have changed over the years. Didn't ride Sunday nor did I plan to, but I like to check the base levels to have a better understanding of future avalanche conditions. After seeing reports of more kiters on Monday I felt it neccessary to become the 3rd stooge and see how it was with a board underfoot... my eyeballs told me it was thin, but only a fool can call something foolish, so I decided to get silly.

Went up today as the wind was looking steady and strong, flew the new Ikon Snowkite 10m, very similar to a Frenzy style kite. Good wind, thin snow, marginal conditions and small riding area. On average the snow is 8 inches deep, blown in other spots and blown out in most places. Grass and Rocks galore. While you didn't hit dirt most of the time, it was a small and dangerous playground.

Helmets and Battle gear required, and the best bet is to stay home and watch snowmobiling videos on the internet if you need a winter fix. Slednecks 14 is now available to order online BTW.

Here's some pics of the actual conditions.... DONT COME TO SKYLINE, we need a couple more feet to ride safely.

Thanks for the info Brian, it is appreciated!! Why risk your season for halfass conditions? No sympathy from me for someone that goes out and hurts themselves on rocks and ground barely covered. You are foolish to be snowkiting now!! Take a vacation.....it's 85 in FL today! Stop the sugarcoating!!!
