3-17, Grants, 85/75L, 4.7, 4.2, 3.7
John hung on to his hot bling 4.2 for the whole morning sesh. It is always great to have a sesh where it is John and I against the wind. As usual we won some and lost some but what a great time. As usual, I was the one that ended with 3 sails and 2 boards rigged. I had some great seshs on the 4.7 and 4.2. It was too gusty and I was too tired to enjoy the 3.7 sesh. It was great to be ripping around on the little 75L board again. This was the 1st time I caught the right wind to give the new 4.2 Wave Panther a good trial and it was sweet handling 40 mph winds without a squawk. I love the relatively smooth morning winds at Grants. As soon as noon hit it went way gusty and I finally ran out of oomph. It was one of those days that, when I made 5 out of 6 jibes on the East side in 40 mph gusts, I had to go to the beach for a celebration dance. The wetsuit did fine in spite of some wild crashes but gloves and hood are still a must as the water is below 40 degrees. Still, hot sailing can almost always trump cold. Already 4 seshs this year and I am smiling.
