Lost Skimboard at ULSSB

Postby windzup » Wed Aug 17, 2005 3:04 pm

Hey All,
Just dropping the word to keep an eye out for a J Gordon skimboard that is either floating on Utah lake or possibly stuck on the bottom.

It has a wooden bottom and colored top sheet with the logo J gordon on it. With a twin tip shape similar to most kiteboards. Likely it is the only board of its kind here in Utah. Oh yeah, no footstraps either.

I hit up ULSSB on monday afternoon for some offshore south winds. While the wind was funky (coming over the tress on its way) it was good for a 12 meter Skim session. I left the board floating and headed to shore to drop my kite. When I returned to the water the board was gone, it was kind of erie cause it disappeared so quickly. Yeah, I know, what kind of dumba** leaves a board floating with offshore winds, but the water was very mellow with the wind up high and not on the surface. I waded out as far as I could and found no sign of my precious skimmy.

So, with south winds that day, it is possible for the board to have made its way just about anywhere on Utah lake. If anyone finds it I would be psyched, and I'll even dig into my pocket for a reward (you never know what I may find in my pockets!)

Thanks all,
Brian Schenck
