Launching upwind of cars (trees)

This almost happened at rush Thursday afternoon (cars, not tree)
Seem to me to be no brainer to launch downwind of hard objects.

Marty,
I remember my first season that you suggested that along with launching down wind of obstacles that I launch with my kite towards the water. Seems like a no-brainer now. But at the time I wasn't aware enough to realize that it'd be better to get drug in to the water than back away from the water and in to cars, rocks and bushes....
