Where's the best place for a newbie kiter to go and drag across or down a lake since Rush is dried up? Any place with a beach to walk back on?

Lincoln Beach at Utah Lake is probably your best bet. The wind is side-shore. Just bring a pair of booties because the surface is rough gravel.

Thanks Kenny,
I'll have to give that a try. I haven't sailed there before. Is it good in North and South winds, or only in North? The latter, I suspect.

Rick,

Yes, north only at Lincoln Beach. South winds are not great for learning anyway because they usually are so gusty. If you don't get much of a chance on the water this fall, make sure you go out on the snow. Snowkiting is a great way to get your wind fix all winter long.

Kenny-
Did you mention the powerlines downwind?
