Another gusty afternoon at DC. I got a few reaches on a 13.5 with a big plyboard. Wish i had a Bow, Some times I was over powered with the kite all the way depowered other times I could not even keep the kite in the air. Many water relaunches. Perhaps a bigger kite would have keep me up but since I was all alone, Big board little kite day. The Island was to gusty so I went north to the end of DC I had seen Dave out there a few weeks ago. 3 inches of mud in some spots and many little and very brittle sticks to brittle to do kite damage.

However I did get a tiny canopy tear when during a lull the kite went down in some bushes about 100 meters off shore. Also it was WSW so almost all onshore.

Still great to get out!!! :D

Billy,

Glad to read that you got a session at DC. The north end of DC is a kite shredder. I never launch there anymore. I have a spot just north of sail boat beach. The only bad part is that you have to stay upwind or you are in for a very long walk. Yes, a bow or SLE style kite would help you a ton at DC. Even with a big kite, the lulls can be huge. I always try to get at least a few hundred yards upwind before I start jumping and I race towards the shore when I see a lull coming so as not to get caught in the middle of the lake.

Looks like tomorrow may be good at Lincoln. I am headed there late in the afternoon if the wind cooperates. Hope to see you there.

Kenny,

It's good to hear your comments on this forum. There helpful and productive. I'm so itching to comment, but my comments are rarely helpful, just bla bla bla from the peanut gallery, but I like to be apart of this forum in some way.

Billy, that sounds like my yarga experience on pineview last year. One second Im fully powered up, then the kite is collapsing and inverting (or something). If i'm lucking the kite hits the water and I can relaunch, if Im unlucky the kite inverts, does a full revolution into the power zone and I'm off again uncontrollably. So glad to have the bow kite for such winds. But like you say, its always nice to get out. My two cents, BTW dont ever through away a penny its bad luck.
