Piute or Which Wyoming lake

Still debating on Mem. day weekend. Piute looks good but a long trip. Sulphur predictions have strange easterly tilts or that would usually be our choice.

If looking at other Wyoming lakes, what is the advice; Fontenelle or Big Sandy? Looking at the map, where do you go on Lake Fontenelle; it looks very long.

Yuba is always tempting but we stopped there last Memorial Day, took one look at the crowd, and kept going to Piute. I am assuming Bear Lake and Flaming Gorge would be overcrowded too.

I am hoping piute will work! I have never been there and I am thinking the water might be pretty warm!

Where do you look as far as predictors windwise?

Ken, we have sailed Fontenelle (near the boat launch/camp ground area and also near the dam. Near the dam is probably the best launch and can be accessed from the main road by exiting at the dam and driving over the top to the other side. Keep going and get up on top of the ridge to the East and then look for access roads that can be taken down to the shore. Some of the trails are a bit steep but I have taken my trailer in there without any trouble, however, that would be a different story if there was recent rain. Big Sandy seems to get pretty good wind and has great access at the picnic & camping area.
