Tried a new launch today. Had some good company including DCJim who sailed effectively through the holes), John D., Sarah and Linda and I think Nicole. Tried my Bike GPS (Garmin 305) and had it tucked under my arm of the wetsuit. It got a little wet but the signal was just okay because of the position of the antenna. Still kind of interesting. I forgot to turn on the starter for the second session. Minimal boaters, no jet-skiers. nice and relaxing launch with grass and close water. http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/2711228 Its interesting also to open your google earth and overlay your course. It shows Rush and some parts of Deer Creek as riding on dirt. [http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/2711228]

Rob,

I, too, now have a Garmin Forerunner 305, and I think I've found a better way to carry it than in the armpit of my suit:

The Aquapack not only protects the 305 from water damage in case it's not quite as waterproof as Garmin claims (a frequent complaint on forums) but also makes it possible to read the screen while sailing and provides a very secure attachment to your arm (a wide Velcro strap).

Good thought. Have you been using this? I may see if REI or someone near has it. It would certainly improve the signal keeping the antenna upright and unobstructed. Thanks Rob
