For those who didn't know, Ken had his thyroid removed last Monday, fighting the big C. His prognosis is excellent and I talked to him today and he has already been riding his mountain bike. I told him the Grantsville crew was thinking of him and he is aiming to be back on the water in October---I have no doubt he will be---You rock Ken from your windsurfing buddies----

Thanks for all the concern and well wishes. Support during these episodes is always one of the keys to recovery. We just found out this morning that the cancer has jumped to the lymph nodes. The good news is treatments with radioactive iodine should wipe out the remaining cancer (cure rate +99%). That will probably occur in late September but I won't find out the details until Aug. 30. I plan on sailing as soon as the neck pain subsides enough to get a wet suit on but I don't think I will be up to the annual Labor Day Gorge blowout. Right now I can't even button my shirt. Thanks for the support. Ken

Hell Ken, sometimes I get out of bed in the morning and can't button my shirt just 'cause I'm feeling like an old man. I'm saying, go for the iodine with a gin chaser and we'll see you at Granstville before you know it.

I'm don't think the latest will even put a dent in the iron man... Ken will be just like Lance Armstrong... he'll come back stronger and faster... and that's all we need, a faster Ken, I can't keep up with Ken now, let alone another 5 mph... As Lance would say "it's not about the sail", but as Ken says... "Can't you go any faster, I get tired of waiting for you?" Get well soon Ken!

Ken, I absolutely believe that attitude is a huge factor in influencing the physical and positive energy from all those that sent it is very beneficial.
I sent you my strongest and most powerful energy. See yourself on the other side of this life challenge and know that there are many of us that are giving you the extra energy you need to conquer this challenge.

Ken,
Just a note of support for your immediate diversion. With your great attitude, I expect to hear that you've beaten those unruly cells into submission (remission) and can get back to doing what you love. You have been an inspiration to all of us and we're looking forward to your resuming your leadership role in bending the fun meter. You are missed on the water.
Best wishes from,
Judi and Trip
