I got some info on the newest light wind kite that I thought I'd pass along. Should be a good setup for our local winds and these kites depower extremely well. How many days does Utah lake look like this?

Photos taken of the Monsoonz 17M Ultra Light Wind Kite in her final testing days.

Wind Speed: 7-8 knots (Can you see any white caps?)
Rider weight: 85KGs
Board Size: 138x41
Lines: 25M
Bar: 60CM 2:1 System

What can you expect from this kite? First things first, the Ultra Flat design platform is probably the flattest LEI around and it delivers more power per square meter. Therefore it delivers more power than any 17M LEIs. Combined with the high AR, the kite cruises faster than any other bows of that size range.

Low end? An 85KG rider would be planing on a 138x41 board at 7-8 knots. We believe that a 90KG++ rider would be able to get going on a bigger board in the same conditions.

But if you are less than 70KGs and if you have about 8 knots, use the 14M Monsoonz. ;)

Should be interesting to see how it compares to the FS SilverArrow. I believe the FS kite is flatter (86% efficient), but since it is a foil lacks the rigid structure of an LEI.

I ride in 7-8 knots all the time. It would be nice to have someone join me once in a while.
