I took my grandkids skiing yesterday for the first time at Pow Mow. Towards the end of the day one of my patroller friends told me that the Discovery Channel was filming kiteskiing by the Sunrise lift. Since I was at the lower lift all day I didn't know this was going on. Who contacted the Discovery Channel and arranged this? Was it someone on this board? I thought we were a pretty tight community and it amazes me that anyone could do that without posting here for other kiters to also participate. I would also think that they would want to film with the maximum number of kites in the air. I'm kinda bummed since I started kiting there first 5 years ago and was the first to get permission to kite there. Does anyone know anything about this?

Auggie. It wasnt Discovery, it was CW Now Tv. They were skiing the other day, saw some kiters out, were blown away. They returned yesterday with a film crew. I gave the show host a snowkite lesson. They got that on film, also got some helmet cam shots from Jacob in white out conditions, very light wind, no excitement.

I was planning to get the word out so that we could have some good background shots, but the forecast was a bad wind direction, North, and 7mph forcasted, plus whiteout conditions in the am. It wouldnt have made for good kiting and didnt think it would be worth anyones time to make the drive up. This was the only opportunity they had to film so we made the best of it.

Trainer kited in whiteout light wind conditions. Flew a larger kite just off the cat track. They are only filling a 2 minute spot and alot of that will be existing snowkite video. They had a great time, should be cool. I'll foward the video if I can get it.

Best I can tell cwtv is a WB company, it will be on Sunday at 6PM plus or minus an hour. Station 30 KUWB (the WB) or ABC4, I dont know, I dont watch much TV.
