I remember reading about some sail repairs somewhere in the valley. Anyone with a contact?
Thanks

Mani.

I have heard that someone in the past has made some sail repairs, but I don't know who.
If there is someone out there I would like to know so I can add his/her name to the learn to windsurf page under the fix it heading.
Meanwhile, Manny might want to send the sail to sailworks in the hood.
The have instructions and pricing on there website.
http://www.sailworks.com/web/pages/repairs.cfmThey took about two weeks in turn around time when I used them last year.

Thanks!
It's just for a little restitching not even a whole panel change.. I'll check to see if it's worth it!
Is Rick over in France yet?
I think he is going to go accross Leucate right in the middle of this... Probably should have mentioned this to him

Finally!!! Something I can give a positive answer to. There IS a fellow that does sail repairs right here in SLC. He is an active sailor out at the Great Salt Lake Marina and does most of the repair work for the sailors out there. I had him replace the largest panel on my 8.5m sail last year and, although he was slow because he needed to have his largest sewing machine repaired, he was careful to do a re-enforced job that should last a long time. He will admit that he doesn't like to sew on sailboard sails because the clear panels are so tough, but I think his rate was well worth the price. He charged about $85 to remove and replace the panel. By the way, he mentioned that you should never remove a damaged panel in order to save yourself money. It makes it much harder for him to make a perfect pattern for replacement for some reason. For what he charged me, it wouldn't have been worth my time anyway.
Here's the contact info for his business. This is not his primary business. There just isn't enough work for him to make a living at it full time.

He gave me several cards and now's my chance to pass the word along.

Dropped the sail there. Cool guy. I guess now the sail repair business got transferred to one of his buddies Kyle Hintze from Spotonrigging. Kevin's shop is still the location to go to to drop sails off though.
