Thanks to the organizers again for doing the prep work as we get to sail, eat, ...speaking of eats, I hear Rick is opening a new restaurant "Ricky Gone Loco"...oh mama when he dumps in the spices, and cranks up the volume ..

It was a very fun weekend, and nice to see such a great turnout! Thanks Rick for another wonderful Crawdad Feast! Whick took shopping for food, bringing all the supplies, and pots, burners, propane, to make the feast. It's alot to get together. Thanks to all who helped with food prep etc. Thanks Josh for all the beginner and freestyle instruction, and bringging all the gear, and thinking of all the little things that were needed, to make everything nicer.

As far as WIND! Everyone left too early on Sunday. It really filled in nicely about 3pm just as Craig predicted, for mid 5 sail rides. We even had some sunshine too. I was well powered up to op'd for a couple of hours. When I came in about 5:30, Rick and Jim were just heading to the far east of Sulpher, with rumor of some small swell there. Wind was still up enough for them to make it back upwind, over an hour later. About as good as we get @ Sulpher.

This is my first chance to sign on since the campout, otherwise I’d have posted sooner about the amazing day we had on Sunday of the campout… Holy cow! I can’t remember the exact time that it started, but it was after most of the sacrificial lambs had already gone… It took quite a few sacrificers to leave before it did… But it was very solid 5.0 for a while and pretty much outlasted all of us… Although, as always, there were a variety of sails out on the water. 7.0 whiteknucklers down to 5.0… That was an amazing session. One of the most fun I’ve ever had at Sulphur!

Jim Hornbeck and I sailed down to the narrow part of the lake and the swell was bigger. However, not as big as it gets when you have a more westerly solid 5.0 wind. This was more of a southsouthwest wind so it didn’t have a chance to grow... But I got a BIG BAD itch scractched a little bit… Can’t wait to get out again. Even Saturday was fun to mess around in the breeze.

Anyway, thanks everybody who came and made Sulphur so much fun. The crawfish boil is a blast… Leo thanks for the pics! I’m just impressed and all the tail pinchers and head suckers that are in the UWA! ;)) Thanks to Sarah for always reserving the marina ahead of time and Linda for the award winning s’mores, and Josh for doing the beginner lessons. Also to all those who brought extra water for the boil, Duane etc. Dimitri, Bim, Duane, and Lindsey for helping to cut up the veggies etc. All the “Deadliest Catch” crew of kids at the dock reeling in the crawfish. Jeff and Gary for helping free dive at the dam for the haul of crawfish there. Thanks to everybody who came…
