Utah Windriders Association

Folks, I am a faculty member at Utah Valley University and the Office of Outdoor Activity has an annual event that promotes activities and gear sales. I was able to talk to the manager to let us promote wind sports at the 2 day event, September 9th and 10th (Wednesday and Thursday). I was wondering if the UWA wants to be involved officially? Regardless, I want to promote windsurfing and snowkiting at the school. So, I will bring my windsurfing and kiting gears to the event. If any of you wants to help, please let me know because I also need a SUP board (they want to sell SUP board already).

Brian and Heather, if you have a DVD about snowkiting that you can loan out, I can try to get them to play it at the center.

I am not aware of any other school that has a windrider club (there are windsurfing clubs at other school), I think it would be great if UVU has a club for windriders.

I've got a couple different vids I can send out.

You have to forgive my ignorance, but where is UVU? I always get it mixed up with U of U and a bunch of other U names across this state.

There is a kite club at the Uni in downtown SLC, and another at the U in Logan... and we just set up a Snowkite club at Snow college for this winter. Thats it for Utah that I know of... other clubs are in MN and across the country.

We'll see if we are around, but there is a trade show in the Gorge that weekend.

Brian, UVU is located at Orem. It is a new university, but it is the second largest university in Utah. I think it would be great to have a snowkiting club here at UVU since we're close to Strawberry.

Lynn, that would be a good idea if we have someone to be there to teach. I will be there most of the day on the 10th. But I need someone to help on the afternoon of the 9th.

I will email you tomorrow about the logistics.
