SF Bay Area - Kiting Spots?

I'll be in the S.F. Bay Area for the week of Thanksgiving and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where to go kiting. I know there are a ton of spots, but I'm looking for a site that doesn't require advanced skills and doesn't have nuking winds (I'll be taking my 11M).

Thanks!

Jon,

Taking one kite to the SF area is like taking one club to a golf course. You might get rides, you might not. Best to take at least 3 kites.

A full wet suit is a must if you are going to kite in the bay. Might be able to ride with just shorty at Sherman Island.

The least challenging place to kite in the bay area is Sherman Island. The wind tends to be consistent there, but it can blow anywhere from 16M down to 7M depending on the day. It is more consistent there during the summer.

The more beginner friendly launches on the bay are Alameda and Berkley.

Have fun!

Kenny

Marty - I think I'll take the 16M as well.
