Hey man . . . how come "Kona Boy" didn't make the highlight reel ? What's wrong with a guy schlogging on a 12' board at the Hatch ? That's something you don't see every day ! :-)

Hey Doc,

Kona Boy will be in the 2009 UWA in the Gorge Video to be seen at the Season Opener in April, and he wasn't schlogging that
12 footer, he was ripp'n it when even the Kiters weren't gett'n any rides!

Very nice video, I have a huge appreciation for the cat like reflexes you people have out there. That water is just boiling! I thought Utah lake got gnarly, but nothing compares to the gorge. Must be an amazing feeling to be in control despite so much chaos in the wind and water. Some day if I can get to that level, I will try a pilgrimage to wind Mecca. And probably get my but kicked. Thanks to this video and some recent warm weather my pole board itch is beginning to flare up again!

Shawn,

Peace on the edge of destruction, once you feel it you can't go back to your former life.

It does take a few days to "acclimatize" to windsurfing in the Gorge, but there are plenty of places to sail where
it's not extreme. You should join us this coming season! I can pretty much guarantee core components of the Tribe will be there Memorial Day week, 4th of July Week, and 24th of July week. I'm up about 60-70 days during the
summer, so if you decide to come up, PM me here, and I can help you pick a location that will challenge you without
discouraging you.

Shawn, if you can sail on Utah Lake on a big day you can handle most spots in the gorge. In fact I think the gorge is an easy place to sail, unless its an easterly day. :)))

Shawn, anywhere is easier to sail than Utah Lake. You'll love the consistent wind and predictable swells. ;)

Craig,

Just looked at the UWA Site for the 1st time in several months. Watched Tribe Surfrat in both regular & high def. Great video. Even the low def version is very clear. You just get better and better. Assume some of that is upgraded equipment.

Thanks for all you do.
