If you were to buy some flat, windy, snow covered property, how many acres do you think you would need to comfortably snowkite without worrying about fences and the like?

Mark Johnson's spot at about 9200 Sooth and 7200 West is easily 1km by 1 km. It looks like you could use half that or 500m by 500m, that translates to 61 acres. Smaller again would be 15 acres or 250m by 250 meters.
Check out his spot on google maps: lat 40.58, longitude -112.042

This is a pipe dreams to buy 1,000,000 acres for me. I would have to say at least 10 acres.

A soccer field will do... but more is better. 5 acres is probably the minimum average that would be needed. But it would be nice if your field was adjacent to a tree less forest.

Brian makes a good point saying that it would be nice if it was adjacent to a treeless field. Smooth wind is all about the 'fetch', or how long a stretch the wind has the ability go without being disturbed by barriers- like trees or buildings or... So- it's nice to have a big field, but it's GREAT to have a field where the wind is smooth, even if the field itself isn't super big...
Or am I just pissing in the wind? (Was that from Blazing Saddles?)
